Description
High-rigidity drive mechanism LxDTM-i
Luxman’s original high-rigidity disc drive mechanism, LxDTM-i*, has evolved even further to read music signals with greater accuracy than ever before from the valuable disc collections accumulated by many audio users. A robust box structure is formed by an 8mm thick aluminum side frame, a 5mm thick steel top plate, and a newly added 8mm thick aluminum base plate, encasing the delicate rotation mechanism. By directly assembling the transport and the main chassis into an integrated structure, unwavering rigidity is ensured, rigidly isolating external vibrations. Furthermore, following the D-10X, a large amount of material has been used to secure space for the analog output circuit, and a left-side mechanism layout has been adopted, derived from the ideal shortest path for transmitting various signals. The wiring route has evolved to be even more optimized to match the latest circuit configuration. The disc tray is also equipped with a dustproof shutter that enhances dust resistance and quietness, and enables smooth and elegant operation befitting a flagship model.

Latest and highest-grade digital signal processing circuit
The D/A converter, the core of the digital signal processing circuit, employs the latest and highest-end ROHM BD34302EKV high-quality DAC chip in a dual configuration (monaural mode). Newly implemented sound quality improvement logic at the IC level and numerous thorough analog circuit approaches result in a significant upgrade in sound quality in the digital-to-analog conversion section. Network transports such as the NT-07 and USB input from Windows PCs/Macs support top-of-the-line playback specifications, boasting a maximum of PCM 768kHz/32bit and DSD 22.5MHz/1bit. Older generation CD players support connections up to PCM 192kHz via the S/PDIF (COAX/OPT) input terminal. During USB data transmission, in addition to isochronous communication, installing the free dedicated driver software allows you to set up Bulk Pet* (4 modes) transfer, which equalizes the processing load during music signal transmission and reception to achieve high sound quality. Furthermore, the built-in filter in the DAC chip allows you to select your preferred tonal characteristics from three types during PCM playback and two types during DSD playback.
Analog output circuit employing the LIFES 1.1 amplification feedback engine.
The D-100 CENTENNIAL’s analog output circuit incorporates the LIFES* amplification feedback engine, a completely redesigned engine based on ODNF*, a core technology in Luxman amplifier circuits that has been refined for over 20 years. This engine was developed to achieve even more realistic, vibrant, and rich musicality and overwhelming audio performance, making it the first disc player product to utilize this technology. Developed as a new technology for Luxman’s next generation, LIFES inherits the technical philosophy of ODNF, which achieves excellent static characteristics while reproducing a natural sound quality similar to a non-feedback system by feeding back only the distortion components generated during the signal amplification process to the main amplifier. Through thorough design simulations, the circuit configuration and components were fundamentally reviewed to reconstruct a simple and ideal amplification circuit. The D-100 CENTENNIAL features the latest version 1.1 of LIFES, which further reduces distortion by connecting the input stage of the difference detection amplifier between the input and output signals in parallel, achieving the deep and rich music reproduction performance that only a flagship model can deliver.
Special exterior finish that signifies the flagship series
The D-100 CENTENNIAL’s front panel features a glossy chrome-plated “CENTENNIAL” nameplate, a mark of its 100th anniversary. The bold yet delicate design of the enclosure, with its extra-thick front panel and bonnet featuring a pronounced slant at the edges, embodies the overwhelming presence and high musicality expected of a flagship series following in the footsteps of the C-10X and M-10X.
High-definition OLED display with excellent visibility
The D-100 CENTENNIAL features a newly adopted high-definition large OLED display with approximately 70% larger display area than the D-10X, improving both information display and visibility. It can clearly display various information such as track information and elapsed time of the disc being played, the audio source format, filters, and playback mode. Furthermore, it is equipped with a 4-stage dimmer function, a 4x zoom mode to improve visibility from a distance, and an automatic dimming function.

Clock circuit for high-precision data transmission
A new two-system clock circuit has been incorporated, featuring a high-precision, low-jitter ultra-low phase noise oscillator IC and a large crystal oscillator to reduce noise near the oscillation frequency. Furthermore, asynchronous communication via a dedicated DSP is used for USB input, while a high-precision clock using the built-in DAIR is employed for S/PDIF input. By selecting the optimal low-jitter function for each input, high-quality digital signal transmission has been pursued.

High-capacity, high-inertia power supply to support high sound quality
The D-100 CENTENNIAL features a traditional high-inertia power supply, combining a CI-type power transformer and a regulator that separates the left and right channels from the rectifier circuit, along with a total of 40,000μF of large-capacity block capacitors. This achieves a pure, powerful, and stable power supply. Furthermore, the audio circuit employs numerous specifications that prioritize sound quality, such as a peel-coat circuit board that eliminates the resist that can affect sound quality, and OFC wiring materials.
High-quality large terminals and insulator legs
The analog output terminals feature original, high-rigidity RCA terminals, typically found only on higher-end models, with a 22mm pitch to accommodate high-quality cables using large plugs. The XLR terminals utilize the renowned Neutrik components. Furthermore, the unit is fitted with gradient cast iron legs that provide robust support, protecting it from external vibrations transmitted through the surface and unwanted vibrations generated by the chassis itself.
Reference power cable for flagship models
The flagship model includes the JPA-17000 power cable, which features significantly upgraded performance and sound quality thanks to the use of 7N-Class DUCC* for 30% of the core wires. The AC inlet is equipped with a gold-plated, high-rigidity type connector that supports the weight of the cable with the entire terminal, ensuring stable retention of the connector. A slim, high-quality aluminum remote control with a numeric keypad for easy operation is also included.

LUXMAN Audio Player
