Aktimate Maxi The AktiMate Maxi is an active 2-way system negating the need for a separate amplifier as it has its own 60 Watt per channel amplifier built in to one of the speakers. It includes a Reciva media module which brings the wonders of direct access to internet radio together with the ability to stream from any Windows or UPnP shared network on your computer. To access the network you either connect via the Ethernet RJ45 on the rear panel, or wirelessly using the AktiMate Maxi’s internal Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. There is FM radio as well (with a string antenna supplied), and the Maxi has three auxiliary inputs (2 pairs of RCA phono connections and a mini-jack) plus audio outputs. The USB host socket on the Maxi allows replay of music files from memory sticks or MP3 players. The iPod dock situated on the top of the active speaker has the elegant cover flap recently introduced on the Minis. Aktimate Mini The AktiMate Mini is a 2-way active speaker system (one active speaker, one passive) with a concealed iPod dock set into the top of the active speaker. It also has additional inputs on the rear panel which include one RCA phono pair and a 3.5mm mini-jack. There is an RCA stereo pair for audio out, ideal for the addition of a subwoofer or daisy chaining multiple pairs of AktiMates. A composite video output transfers images from an iPod to an external screen (only for iPods to Version 5 and Nano Version 2) and finally there is a USB power socket to charge an MP3 player.

Hi there

 

Do you have/can you get a pair of AktiMate Mini speakers in white?

 

I don't know when the design was modified but I'm after a pair with the concealed iPod docking station rather than the older style with an exposed ...

There are two products in the AktiMate range at this time - the Mini and the Maxi.

The Mini was introduced at the very end of 2007 and the Maxi in January 2010.


AktiMate Mini is an active 2-way system negating the need for a separate amplifier as it has its own 40 Watt per channel amplifier built in to one of the speakers. In early versions the iPod dock was clearly visible - it is now concealed under a cover flap on the top of the active speaker. This dock also accepts the iPhone.


The AktiMate Maxi is an active 2-way system negating the need for a separate amplifier as it has its own 60 Watt per channel amplifier built in to one of the speakers.
